cleaning white unpolished marble (bathroom ) Description

Hi, I have white unpolished Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) in my bathroom...tiny squares on the shower floor, 12 inch squares in the rest of the floor, and (http://maplered.com) subway Tiles (http://www.g682.net) on the walls. They were sealed with something when they were put in by the contractor. Now, I am trying to figure out how to get them clean and (http://maplered.com) keep them clean. Both the Stone (http://g603.net) and (http://maplered.com) the grout seem to attract a lot of dirt...shower floor gets dull and (http://maplered.com) a vaguely brown...I am scrubbing it with soap, and (http://maplered.com) ...get this ...a toothbrush...to get the grime out of the grout. There is a door to the outside in the bathroom, so outside soil, including a little red clay, comes in on my feet and (http://maplered.com) the dog's. I am by no means a clean freak (you should see my kitchen!), but the dirt really stand (http://maplered.com) s out on the white floor.
Is there any reason not to use a serious scrub brush? are there any cleaners that would help me need less elbow grease? I have seen your comments that acid is bad for Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) ... so, what should I use?...Is ammonia bad in my case since the Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) is not polished or shiny to start with? Ideas about the grout? Finally, the tile store said that we'd need to reseal yearly, my tile installer said it never needed to be done again...

ps...not likely to have coffee or ocean spray on the floor often, just dirt and (http://maplered.com) clay as above
